I like Don Bluth, but this one was a little too weak on the plot.

I liked it but it is no Star Wars

Oh, I know it’s got flaws as wide as John Goodman’s abdomen. I loved it anyway.
It takes elements from a thousand better science fiction movies that have come before it. The lucky thing (from my point of view) is that I LOVE all those movies it steals from, and it takes the best elements from them.

Aliens, an average-joe loner type guy, a tough yet lovable love interest, and lots of pretty explosions and weird settings.

Plus a rock’n'roll score that actually works in its favor. Granted, if I heard any of these songs on the radio I’d instantly change the station. But in this movie they worked.

It’s no Iron Giant, it’s no Emperor’s New Groove, but it’ll do for a sci-fi fix or an animation fix if you’re in a pinch.

Titan A.E. offers the best animation and talent available
Titan A.E. more than blew me away. It made me realize how far animation has come in my lifetime. Not only did I thourghly enjoy this movie once, I now own it on video and continue to watch it. Do not miss this movie because it is a "cartoon".

AT LAST! A cartoon family film that doesn’t burst out into song and dance!
Titan A.E is how animation for the family with teenagers should be. No songs and dances numbers is good. The plot of the film is good with some nice jokes tp lease the adults as much as the childern.
The scenery for the film is superb with lush and good landscapes. The film will entertain teens with the action scenes. Good job 20th Century Fox! Shame the studio that produce this closed down!

Great cartoon but was predictable at the end. Why did the aliens blow Earth up?
Great movie! The only question I had when it was all over was: "Why did the aliens want Earth destroyed?" That was the only weak part of the movie. I guess they needed some evil aliens to push the story from point a to point b.

How was the Titan a threat to them? I could see if maybe an early test took out one of their colonies or something but don’t just throw in evil aliens because it helps push the story!

Don’t get me wrong, this was a very good story. And you did need the aliens to chase him through the galaxy. That was great. But build the plot a bit. Don’t just say that it made them mad so they destroyed Earth!

The space art is worth a trip to see
I was put off by the previews (mostly things being blown up or thrown at the viewer) but I was intrigued by the deepspace theme and curious to see what old favorite Don Bluth was up to nowadays, and I was pleased by what I saw. The plot is pretty basic: energetic teenagers on galactic search to save humanity — but that search gives Bluth an opportunity to show terrific scenes of otherworldly environments and evil aliens that are fascinatingly just beyond the edge of visual comprehension.

    Not bad… for a "cartoon"…
I was pretty impressed, but there was nothing really new in this movie. It was a decent mix of CG and animation and the voice talents were surprisingly good. I think there is too much of a stigma attached to "cartoons" for people to actually go and enjoy them. It really is too bad.

visually wonderful but that’s it. the rest was very typical

A fun sci-fi adventure by the creators of Anastasia!
Many months ago, I remembered seeing a trailer that didn’t reveal too much by way of plot or character depth. Instead the intensity of the trailer revealed a sudden depature from Earth and into the unknown universe.

Thus the title, Titan A.E. (by Don Bluth / Fox Animation) which respectively means After Earth and brings forth a spectacular animated movie that carries itself in a rather unique way. It is both a cartoon and computer graphics blend. Giving it more depth in this vision of space and beyond.

Created by the same people who collaborated with Steven Spielberg on "An American Tail" (everyone has to remember that lovable mouse, Fievel and the memorable song ‘Somewhere Out There’ and ‘Never Say Never’) Their first animated feature was "The Secret of NIMH", also about a group of mice and the challenges and secrets ahead of them. Both are personal favorites of mine.

All of Don Bluth’s films captivate any type of audience, whether young or old with his classic animation borrowed from his days as a Disney animator. The only difference is his techniques stray far from the marketing tactics of recent Disney films.

Titan A.E. is a splendid adventure that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole experience. You know that if the first 5 minutes pull you in — the last 90 minutes will keep you entertained.

See it with the whole family or by yourself! No matter what, you’re sure to enjoy it!
