Nice characters, some bad pacing. Fun enough.
Good but not good enough
Worth seeing

Pretty original, but nothing stands out enough
Amazing. Funny, gritty, commentary on the Gulf War. Absolutely brilliant.
great but can be hard to watch
similar to Kelly’s Heros but it’s worth seeing
This was truly a terrible movie
Overachiever!
I expected little from this movie, but it was actually pretty good. The cinematography was excellent, while the acting above average. Good rental!
Pretty good
It was ok, but Kelly’s hereos was better
A refreshing movie…
The directing, cinematography, and acting were all top notch in this movie. It was funny and serious at the same time. There are also some nice sad and tense moments which add to the realism of the film. On the subject of realism, gore is abundant in the film, so beware. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed this film.
i liked the innovative way that Russell directed his action sceens..
and the sureal colors that were used. the script it was surprisingly funny. the movie started good but went downhill from there. it didn’t hold my interest throughout.
A movie with two faces. A pretty good flick.
Some very funny early scenes. The movie later does a 180 degree about face and becomes much more serious.
Unexpectedly subversive and funny! More like Catch-22 than Rambo.
I went into this movie reluctantly, expecting some kind of shoot-em-up, I love the smell of napalm in the morning, Americans-kick-foreign-butt type of thing. Instead, what I got was a well-directed, unexpectedly funny movie that really makes you question a lot of what you think you know about the Gulf War…especially if you don’t already live in Berkeley.
However, if you go into this movie expecting a guts-to-the-gutter Indy flick, you might be disappointed by the high-profile polish and the tidy Hollywood ending.
Marky Mark is actually really good, as good as he was in Boogie Nights, if not better. Clooney is Clooney…but good Clooney, a la Out of Sight. Ice Cube is good too, a little toned down but still intense and believable.
If you’re in the mood for a mix of action and humor that actually makes you think a little, I definitely recommend this flick.
Quite funny. Full of gore. Attempts a political statement.
I’m not much of a "gore guy" myself; but the scene of the redneck guy with the shotgun! I was rolling!
Better than I was expecting.
