Storyline
Oz is a Montréal dentist, paying off debts so he can divorce his wife: the dislike is mutual. When she learns their new neighbor is hit man Jimmy the Tulip, with a price on his head, she sends Oz to Chicago to earn a finder's fee telling Mob boss Yanni where to find Jimmy. To get his wife off his back, Oz goes, his assistant Jill urging him to get laid while there. One of Yanni's men awaits Oz at the hotel; Oz's now in too deep to avoid telling Yanni what he knows. Meanwhile, Oz's wife rats on Oz to Jimmy, hoping Jimmy will kill Oz and she can cash in on life insurance. Oz meets Jimmy's wife (Yanni's captive), flips for her, and the double-crosses mount. Even Jill isn't whom she seems.

    SO FUNNY!!
I must confess,I saw this movie twist (only payed once) and in the second time I saw it - somehow - it was twistest funnier and I couldn’t stop laughing.. It’s played by great actors; Bruce Wiliis - The best actor and also the sexiest actor there is.
Mathiew Perry - Great actor, very very funny, killing!
and some beautiful female actors who were wonderful too. Whoever likes to laugh, and can be amused easily - would like this movie very much!

    Avoid at all costs
The Whole Nine Yards is a very small movie with two big names in it. Everyone else in the movie seem to be comic acting school rejects fumbling their way through their lines, like Rosanna Arquette and her ridiculous French/Canadian accent or Kevin Pollack as the mob boss who, in his Don Corleone-like introduction, actually looked confused on how to play his character. You almost feel embarrassed for these actors, but you can’t because you are so annoyed by them and annoyed that you paid to see this movie. The story is weak, the acting is bad, and the comedy is non-existent. Once again it appears that the Friends stars are best when together and on a smaller screen.

i was pleasantly surprized.. quite funny
if you can make it through the firs 20-30 mins the rest is great. except rosanna arquette is SO irritating. but just ignore her and enjoy the rest of the movie :)

    Very funny. Must See.
I loved this movie I laughed from the beginning until the very end. I went with a very cynical friend and he laughed. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him laugh and he was laughing out loud. I would definantly go see this movie again.

    Funny indeed!
This movie combined a lot of things I like. A slight "touch" of a thriller, hit men, sexy, and damn funny!

needed development of "love" story and less Roseanna Arquette
I have to disagree with my fellow reviewers who say this movie is a must-see. Matthew Perry has been once again cast as a "Chandler" type, and, while he’s good at it, I fear he might be getting himself completely stuck in this rut. The only thing less convincing than Roseanna Arquette’s french accent is Kevin Pollak’s slavic (?) accent. There’s a love story in there somewhere, but it seems like a lot of the movie was left on the editing room floor, so I didn’t feel the love quite like I think they wanted me to.
On a positive note, I laughed out loud half a dozen times, and the title is slightly clever, if you stick it out until the end. I’d suggest waiting for the rental.

a fairly entertaining movie that kept me busy

    funny! funny! funny!
This is Bruce Willis at his best. This was a very funny movie. It whole cast actually was very funny. When hit woman was falling over Bruce’s character I couldn’t stop laughing. What Bruce can do with one word and a eye brow raised is an art form.

  21. babul

very funny movie. you must see this thing.

  22. stiven

    Hilarious comedy!

  23. sanh

    Very, very funny!
This was a great movie…bottom line. The first really good movie starring a Friend, Bruce Willis did a great job too. If you’re out for laughs, this is your stop.
