Storyline
Rachel Keller is a journalist investigating a videotape that may have killed four teenagers (including her niece). There is an urban legend about this tape: the viewer will die seven days after watching it. If the legend is correct, Rachel will have to run against time to save her son's and her own life.

OMG! This movie was so scary i thought i was gonna cry at the end…. You must see it. I actually almost crapped my pants… seriously.. i had nightmares too.

Outstanding movie & don’t listen to "jackfrost!!!
I’d like to start out with my review of the movie. It was an overall great movie, jumps in the right places and holds out in the right places. The acting was good, the plot was good, and was down-right creepy! The best of all was when you think the movie was over, when they release the little girl, then it happens and you back in the well.

Now I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but this guy’s review was just plain dumb! First of all, the movie in no way, shape or form copied "Feardotcom". Know why? CAUSE IT’S A REMAKE!!!!! The original film was made YEARS ago, entitled the same thing only in (obviously) Japanese! Second of all, I can tell him what connected the two children together…the PLOT! It’s just a movie, you don’t need to delve that deep into it, but I’m sure if you did, you’d understand the rest of the movie!!! Thirdly, jackfrost said it was stupid, because Ghosts don’t come out of TVs and kill you, so what!!!! We don’t clone dinos from mosquitoes and frog DNA and open a park (Jurassc Park), and people are not sewn together and re-animated (Frankenstein), and we do not live in a computer-generated world (the matrix), and Killers do not come back after dying 7-8 times (Halloween, Nightmare on elm st., Friday the 13th, etc…)!!!!
By the way whoever it was that said there might be room for sequels? There better be a sequel,their was a sequel to the japan version!

"After watching this videotape you die within seven days" Hmmm.. sound familiar…I think that was a website or something a long time ago. Anyway, This film could have been a twilight zone episode instead of a long, drawn out movie. The story kept getting more unbelievable and complicated as it progressed. The huge holes in the story line were left totally unexplained for some reason. For example, I don’t know what the connection was between the mom’s son to the little girl. I gave this movie a really low score because it was not scary and ghosts do not come out of your TV to kill you!
It terrifies you in a way that few scary movies can!
a bit Scream-like at first, but much spookier
visually interesting, at times on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspenseful and fun, but ultimately the story lacks total coherence and leaves a lot to be desired. I’m still a little baffled about how the characters & plot threads all work together. If you go just for the ghost story and you’re not looking for a whole lot more, you’ll get what you’re paying for. Plus some great scenes that will stay in your mind, like the horse on the ferry or the cousin-it type little girl at the end of the film (can’t give this one away). Overall, a fun flick that perhaps leaves room for a sequel or two.
Creepy…
I’m not sure what to say about this movie. I would like to say as little about the plot as possible, but I will compare it in some ways with Sixth Sense and The Others.
Maybe it’s because I’m getting jaded with these kinds of movies that I only gave this a 7, but there are some plot holes which I didn’t particularly care about or that in the end there were so many unanswered questions.
It’s a good movie. Go see it.

Scary but sketchy
the scares, the effects and the story are excellent, but there are obvious plot holes. when people die 7 days after watching a disturbing video, a reporter, whose niece becomes one of the victims, wants to find out why. her research leads her to a little girl, but we never really find out why or how the little girl is causing these deaths, or where she really came from. this, however, certainly doesn’t ruin the fact that this is one creepy, well made little movie.
