Very well-edited and very powerful
VERY INTENSE. See the unedited version. blockbuster only has "R" version.
Not as good as everyone claims
I side with those out there who hated the movie for its unnecessary gruesomeness. The graphic sex, violence, and hallucinations were total Hollywood, whereas "Traffic" actually had plot and storylines to follow (making it the best drug movie of 2000). The editing in "Requiem for a Dream" gave me a headache, as 50 shots were pieced together in a 5-second montage of someone shooting up heroin. And that swelling on Jared Leto’s arm? Absolutely disgusting. The obvious parallels between the four seasons and the characters’ drug addictions were too cheesy for words, but the superb acting by Jennifer Connelly (not Ellen Burstyn) redeems this movie from slipping to a 0/1/2 score.
Amazing acting and plot and very original.
Interesting movie but not really meant for a broad appeal.
perfected hip-hop montage film style nicely. interesting view of drug culture
Mesmerizing, totalling involving story, superbly acted, photographed and edited
Powerful and poignant - you will not forget this movie…
This film centers around 4 characters and their downward spiral as they pursue love, dreams and addiction.
Ellen Burstyn is amazing. I cannot imagine a better performance, or one in recent memory that is better.
