creepy performance by Robin WIlliams.
Top-notch direction.
Slow but still very creepy. Liked how it ended.
Williams is great in this one - he didn’t have a single ad-lib. Well done.
Just a Robin Williams expose, but a good one.
There’s not a whole lot to see here besides Robin Williams, but that isn’t to say that what’s there is bad. Far from it, Williams creates a character both sympathetic and grotesque, and the quiet, methodical pacing gives the audience time to think about (and dread) what’s happening to the people on screen. Seeing it once was enough, but I’m glad I did.
Slow, meandering character study…nothing more.
Shallow Character & Story Development
At times unrealistic, uninteresting, and ultimately deflating, this movie needs a re-write that explores more of Robin Williams’s character, Sy. It shows all his strange and at times very sad life but fails to deliver any reason for us to care about what happens to him, or the family he’s obsessed with for that matter. However, the artistic quality of the film is worth mentioning, specifically, the use of color (or lack thereof) in Sy’s world; he lives in empty whites and cold grays, (even his car is white.. and a Toyota ECHO at that!). He only experiences true color in the pictures and fantasies concerning the family he’s obsessed with. Overall though, a very disappointing film.
better than insomnia R william sshould be on best actor list pretty good bad guy
If you like slow you’ll like this
This movie is more of a "Man that guy is creepy" kinda thing than a scary movie really.
It wasn’t really what I expected of it - but it was good anyways.
And I must say Robin Williams is SO much better at playing a sicko than at being funny!
