  • Since the very first bedtime, all around the world, children have known that once their mothers and fathers tuck them in, and shut off the light, that there are MONSTERS hiding in their closets, waiting to emerge! What they don't know is: it's nothing personal. It's just their job.
  • We Think They Are Scary, But Really We Scare Them!
  • You Won't Believe Your Eye.

    Well acted

It’s okay, but I’m not crazy about it.
I think this movie is a good movie to watch at home.

  3. molly

    A great piece of cinema..

    Resolution with resignation
Many did not like the way this movie ended. The argument being how could she stay with a racist?

That is why I recommend this film. It points out that life doesn’t always give you what you want. Sometimes you just have to take what is good enough based on your own emotional strength.

    good acting but bad plot
halle berry had great acting in this movie… but the plot and everything else was very dumb.

    The more I see B.B Thornton . . . .
the more I appreciate his art. Billy Bob was excellent. Halle Berry was very very good, too. I strongly reocmmend this movie.

  7. anu

Great performances, great story, an all around great film.

    Boo!…lol

    good stuff. . .
i am not into pixar and all that stuff, but i thought that it was clever, sweet, and funny. moved at a fast pace and that little girl was really cute. i enjoyed the characters and everything about it was original! i especially like the ‘door chase’ scene at the end. neat!

  10. gumnou

Way better than Shrek while we’re on the subject

  11. popia

A little too intense in parts for some of its target audience, but pretty good.

    Cutest movie ever made
I saw "Monsters, Inc." with my sister, and we enjoyed it from start to finish. There are some laugh-out-loud funny moments, some frightening-for-little-kids scary moments, some genuinely-touching sad moments, and some "aww"-inducing cute moments. The character of Boo is the greatest thing ever created by Pixar, and while Mike Wazowski isn’t terribly funny, the rest of the monsters are great… except for the evil Randall, whose chameleon-like powers make for some pretty interesting scenarios. The best part is the door-riding action scene. With the addition of "bloopers" now showing during the end credits (reminiscent of "Toy Story 2"), I’m going to have to go back and see it again. No problem.

cute, funny eye candy. witty script. the vanilla pudding of digital flicks.

If this movie was halfway original, I’d love it. But it’s not.
It’s unoriginal. It’s corny. But i love the big green eyeball so i gotta give it the points.

It has too many little twitches. It’s something you see once and no more. But i have to admit, the characters were adorable, especially the green eyeball. It’s definitly worth it for a younger child.

  18. kolpa

    Definitely a must!
I saw this with my friend, and we both loved it. Boo is the cutest. Anyway I came home and told the remaining members of my family that they definitely had to see it. So cute!

    The kids love this film.
The kids think this movie is great, and there are some "adult" jokes in there to make it entertaining. Mike Myers is the voice of Shrek and does an excellent job. Eddie Murphy as "Donkey" is very funny.

  20. Juhani

Not nearly as good as Shrek but not a complete waste.

  21. axe

maybe i expected too much but it just wasn’t great

  22. rosdri

    Hillarious
It was almost as good as Shrek, but I loved it! It had a great plot. I can’t think of anything bad to say about it. I say it in the theatres twice already. I can’t wait to buy it on video. My little brother will love it, a great movie for the young ones and the old.

  23. bethel

    I think pixar is sliping

  24. dyyca

This movie is cool heh..Sullivan is cool

  25. arouck

    very cute
Gets a bit slow at a few places but the animation is really incredible. The outtakes and company show during the credits really surprised me.

  26. teeq

    A cute and delightful movie.
Monster’s Inc. shows us once again what a difference it makes when the movie maker’s genuinely love what they are doing. The Pixar crew’s work exemplifies the enthusiasm that early Disney movies themselves had.

  27. thuy

A cute movie for the VERY young at heart…
The amazing graphics made it worth seeing.

  28. djvibf

Good story, Great graphics, well-done characters. Loved it!

  29. gumnoo

Take a kid so you don’t look out of place :) but I bet you’ll like it

  30. vyq

30 minutes too long. Not as good as Toy Story 1 or 2.

  31. clink

I thought it was great for kids and adults alike

  32. payne

not sure if better tahn toystory but it is up there 8.5

  33. dave

    cute as a freakin’ button
doesnt quite rival toy story, but the storyline is incredibly creative and the allusions in the movie are very clever, one restaurant in the monster city is a sushi place named Harry Housen, after the famed special effects artist. the characters are charming and marketable, the animation is great, and it definitely has adult appeal. hopefully pixar will keep up the good work.

  34. oam

    Great for grandkids ONLY!!!!
    Boring for most over 50

  35. fannie

take the whole family with you
this a movie that every one will enjoy
the animation is superb and the voice over was very well done
i like this movie so much i saw it twice
please remember not to scare the monsters

  36. moni

    damn fine
    the best Pixar film yet.

  37. brashe

Technically very good, but really intended for a younger audience.

  38. chown

This is a G movie. As such, "definitely recommended."
My wife and I brought out 11 y/o and 11 of his friends. I was a bit surprised that none of them dissed it because it is definitely oriented to the young/very young. It is very well done. I suppose if you liked Ants or a Bug’s Life you’d appreciate this.

    this movie is amazing
i loved this movie. you can say it was made for little kids and that you could see the end coming a mile away, but i don’t care. i loved it.

pixar did it again. if i could sell my sould to be as cool and skilled as them…well i dunno. how much is a soul worth these days? maybe i’d hold out for a bit more, but that would still have to be part of the deal.

and while i have to admit, there were times i fell out of the movie and was watching it and thinking this is fake, blah blah blah, it was because there were some things that were just so cool and well thought out and filled with that perfect touch that it just hit me how amazing it was and this was all totally fake.

i think that was a run-on or five, but you know what i mean. just go watch the movie before it leaves the theater. you can write and thank me after.

if you want to send me homemade food as a thank you, that’s cool. i have been wanting a nice bannana cream pie for a while now. one of those would be good. actually, any pie will be fine. mmm pie.

    have fun.

    Incredible Amazing Fun Delightful …
This was a very good movie, incredible animation with amazing detail. The voice acting skills were awesome, the story was just fun and delightful. I loved it, the monsters, the little girl, the hero’s the villians, it was absolutely the best family movie of the year. I think it’ll top Toy Story, TS2 and Bugs Life.

I took my 6 year old (for her birthday) and she loved it, "Monsters are scared of kids!" She couldn’t wait to get home and tell her big brother and sisters, she didn’t have to be afraid of the dark ANYMORE!!
