When a serial killer indicates that his next target is the Miss United States beauty pageant, the F.B.I. decides that they must get an undercover agent as a participant in the contest. A search uncovers no suitable candidate other than a bumbling female agent (Sandra Bullock). Reluctantly, her captain (Ernie Hudson) agrees to let her join the team working the case. The team is led by a womanizing agent (Ben Bratt) who has an apparent reluctant attraction to Bullock's character. She enters as Miss New Jersey, replacing a contestant who was discovered to have acted in a porno film. The pageant managers (Candice Bergen, William Shatner) are immediately aghast about the agent appearing in the pageant, but arrange a top handler (Michael Caine) to come give her a quick makeover, with the expected outstanding results. Unfortunately, she still is bumbling. When the killer is suddenly caught, everything seems to be over, except the female agent tries to convince her boss that something is still not right. She has discovered that the pageant managers are being dismissed after 21 years for younger people, and Bergen's character may not be as solid as she seems on the surface.Actors

Rent it on DVD. Even better, rent one, get one free at Blockbuster. That was the clincher for me.

Funny woman
Bullock directed this movie and did an excellent job. It says something about a beautiful woman (which Bullock is) that she can make herself oh so plain and have odd idiosyncracies, like snorting when she laughs.

Funny, light weight comedy with beautiful people to look at.
I didn’t really expect to like this movie very much, but was pleasantly surprised. It’s a light comedy without much to stress about as it traipses through its little plot maneuvers.
Sandra Bullock is pretty and funny, Benjamin Bratt keeps himself nicely on the sidelines, and Murphy & the Captain are funny in their old fart kinda way.
Go see this movie if you need cheering up. It’s an amphetamine for your attitude.

Okay, so maybe the plot left a little to be desired…I went into the movie knowing this and took it for what it was worth. It was pretty funny and I figure it is kind of a "Bodyguard" meets "Drop Dead Gorgeous". Highly entertaining!!!
Great movie…funny with a dramatic and romantic touch.
I loved this movie, and so did my boyfriend [who might I add protested to going to this "chick flick" from the start]. He said it was one of the best movies we’ve seen in a while, and I agree. Sandra is hilarious kicking butt and prancing around mocking beauty queens. A definite must see.
My husband even laughed and he didn’t want to see it.
Ben could do better
I saw this movie ’cause i like Ben Bratt. In the future, i hope he makes a wiser choice when deciding what film to star in. As for what’s her name, (see how quickly we forget?), she’s made one bad choice after another. Goodbye "Speed", hello nowhere!
Good but very predictable
Great comedy
I was prepared to be disappointed, but the movie was actually funny - and the previews hadn’t even come close to showing it all. It WAS a bit predictable though.
Sandra Bullock at her funniest!
Funny movie! Might want to wait for the video now that we are all back to work. It was great fare for Christmas night after all the family stuff! Sandra never looked so beautiful, although clumsy and gangly in it! Good for a laugh.

I didn’t think I’d be rating this one so high..
I laughed pretty evenly through the whole movie with maybe one or two lulls. The action was so-so, but the comedy (which is what they were obviously after) was pulled off quite successfully!
Sandra Bullock surprised me. I think this role suits her perfectly - she did well.

I like Sandra Bullock. This movie is hers. It’s not Oscar fare but it’s fun and it’s entertaining and there is plenty of screen time for Ms. Bullock.
Local Austin girl makes good…
Sandra’s awesome in this film. Physical comedy is definitely her forte, and this plays right into her hand. Its worth a few laughs.
