Confusing, but it’s good exercise for the brain.

    Truly
This movie actual got me into watching movies and as well as a strong interest in flimmaking.

For starters, this movie tells you the ending, and the mysterious tales to its conclusion, but does not tell you the true conclusion of Leonard faking his injury and to watch degree.

This movie’s success is the result of its style of unconventional storytelling; causing the viewer to think rather than to just be entertained.

    smart and nicely shot
Non-traditional narrative styles - like the reverse chronological one employed in Memento - often come off seeming gimmicky, but Memento pulls it off. Good cast as well.

Very unique presentation without feeling gimmicky. Very cool.

My 3rd favorite movie of all time
No words do this movie justice–it’s one of the most original films I’ve ever seen. It goes backwards from end-to-beginning and it just left me breathless. I’ve seen it a second, third, and fourth time, but am still unable to fully decipher the plot (which is what I love most). It was nominated for Best Original Screenplay (how could it not be?) and Best Editing (see the movie and you’ll know why), but failed to garner enough support to earn that coveted Best Picture nomination (which it totally deserved in place of that crap-sterpiece "The Lord of the Rings"). Just do yourself a favor and go out and buy "Memento" on DVD–you’ll watch it more than enough times to get your money’s worth.

Probably the best movie of the year.
I saw this movie in the theatre about a week before it was released on video. I’d heard people raving about it so I went and I loved it. It has a really original story line and great acting (especially by Guy Pierce). You are missing out on something great if you don’t see this.

not as good as everyone made it sound

Left my mind scrambled at times, but that’s half the fun
This movie easily slipped into my top 3 movies of all time. Hollywood has turned into a place where you have to parade around the same old tired cliches, but you have to do it in completely new ways to keep us entertained. Be it "Love will always prevail" or in the case of Memento, "Trust no one" and "Look closer".

Inventive in both it’s look and in it’s plot, the back-asswards scenes make you do what movies rarely ask of us anymore: Think. Too often we just sit and drool, glance at our watches, or drool and glance at the one we’re with. Memento makes the best out of one person’s disablity by allowing us to see several stories from the same man that are all at once just one.

    wonderfully unique and thought provoking

Points for uniqueness.. BUT, confusion does good writing not make.

Just goes to show - people with no memory should not be out on the street.

What a great movie! I felt completely warped afterwards.
Memento’s conceit — telling it’s story backwards, from finish to start — could have come off as a gimick, but somehow the director, screenwriter, and cast pull it off. This is a totally engrossing film, the kind you’ll definitely want to see twice. It’s engrossing, exciting, and innovative. For once, a movie you can enjoy wihtout leaving your brain at the door.

a real intriguing mind bender of a movie
I saw this movie back in March…was waiting and waiting for it to be listed here so that I can give a review. You gotta see the movie a few times to really understand it fully, but it gets you thinking. The acting was good and the storyline is very twisting, but an intriguing storyline.

  23. taiwo

Weird, sad and moving, all at once. See it.

  24. wen

very smart with some great acting too

The most original movie I’ve seen in a long time but I’m not sure that I liked it. The story is shown end to beginning and some parts of the story don’t really add up.
