Another bad movie from Jet Li, but not quite as bad as Black Mask

When it comes to action, there’s just no stopping Jet!
However, when it comes to developing a plotline to make into an interesting screenplay, this action-hero megastar has much to learn.

Got what I expected… little plot, lots of action
I walked into this movie with the same expectation I have for any true martial arts film…. little to no plot and lots of intense martial arts action. Judging from Jet Li’s work he did on Lethal Weapon 4, I had high expectations for the latter. I got pretty much that… his martial arts style is quick and intense with less acrobatics than Jackie Chan (which I was never a fan of until he got into the comedy pairings). The karate class scene and the fight with the twins was a really good show of Li’s abilities. Throwing in the plot of challenging his full dedication to his work with Bridget Fonda and her situation was ok, but that requires real acting :-) All in all, I felt the movie was worth paying the price to see.

This was an exciting intense good movie!
If you are looking for an exciting, fast moving, intense action movie this one is for you! If you’re looking for depth, character development and plot continuity then you probably want to go see something else.

I really enjoyed the action, the story, and the bad guys getting their butts kicked. If you like action movies then GO SEE THIS!!

Hopefully, Jet’s career in the U.S. gets better…
Yes, the fight sequences in this movie are what you expect - fast and furious (no pun intended). Jet is so fast, though, that I wish some of the sequences were shot Woo style.

I did not expect much from the story, and yet it was able to disappoint. The dialogue in this movie between Brigette Fonda and Jet is soooooo bad. Part of this can be explained by the fact that Jet is still learning English, however there is no excuse for Brigette. There is one scene in particular that just makes you want to groan. I felt sorry for Brigette because you can sense that she realizes how cheezy the dialogue between the two is, but she knows she must act it out. Its a half-hearted performance at best.

The villain is played well, and so there is satisfaction in the end when the villain…

My advice, wait for video, and fast-forward to the fight sequences.
