Storyline
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is a tale of adventure on the open road. When Dante and Randal (of Clerks fame) get a restraining order to keep the punchy Jay and his hetero life-mate, Silent Bob, from selling drugs in front of the Quick Stop convenience store, their lives are suddenly empty. They find new purpose when their friend, Brodie, informs them a movie is being made featuring two infamous characters based on their likenesses. After visiting one of the creators of the Bluntman and Chronic, Holden McNeil, they set out to get what fat movie cash they deserve and hopefully put an end to people slandering them on the Internet. Along the way, they learn the rules of the road from a hitchhiking George Carlin, ride with a group of gorgeous jewel thieves, and incur the wrath of a hapless wildlife marshal for liberating an orangutan named Suzanne. The quest takes them from New Jersey to Hollywood where a showdown involving the police, the jewel thieves, and the Bluntman and Chronic filmmakers will decide the fate of Suzanne, Jay, Silent Bob, and their good names.

Hey, remember how I made that movie ‘Clerks’? Huh. Huh. That was cool. -Kevin S.

  4. rew4

At least all the parodies of other movies were funny

  5. helge

Good flick if you like dirty humor

  6. patel

it was hilarious, if you like off-colored humor with some endearing qualities
I like Kevin Smith, though I only recall having seen Dogma, which I loved. yes, the humor has swear words in every spoken sentence, but it is not meant to offend. it is just that culture and the comedy is sophomoric, but sometimes that type of comedy when done right is the most entertaining. It wasn’t offensive and I believe the comedy was done with lots of entertainment and many inside jokes in reference to other movies.

Look out, Hollywood! Its the revenge of Jay & Silent Bob, comic crusaders!
‘Jay & Silent Bob’ is to date, the funniest of all five of Kevin Smith’s films!

Gonna have to agree with reelerguy
The dirty humor doesn’t work but the rest is hilarious.

great. but see some of his previous work first to fully appreciate it.

  10. joanna

some pretty funny bits but wasn’t as entertained as other Kevin Smith flicks

an awefull lot of cussing but best slapstic of the year

  12. tool

Best movie of the year. Thats saying something.

I found it funny in parts.
I saw it for the continuation of Kevin Smith movies. It was good but not his best. I liked all the cameos and the inside jokes the most.

If you’ve got an aversion to dirty language then you won’t want to see this.

    These people aren’t quite sane
I must say the movie was very different from what I expected. It’s more of a spoof (Scary movie and stuff like that) than it’s like the previous J&SB movies (at least the 2 I’ve seen). They did it well though - I was cracked up like 90% of the time.
All that being said - a member of the group I saw it with walked out halfway through the movie - so clearly not everybody agrees with me on this)

very funny movie, but i suggest you watch clerks, mallrats, & chasing amy first.
this movie is damn funny in my book, but it’s more than just a movie though. it’s also a celebration of kevin smith’s work and success.

there are a lot of inside jokes that you won’t really get unless you’ve seen his other movies, but that’s prolly ok cause i’m sure most everyone that’s gonna see this movie has already seen his other stuff.

even on it’s own though, it’s a pretty damn funny movie. i think. not sure. i got a bit busy eating my chocolate covered pretzels.

i can’t wait for it to come out on dvd. i’m sure the comentary feature will be hilarious.

in short, if you love kevin smith movies, you will love this movie. if you don’t know what i’m talking about, watch clerks and chasing amy.

    ooh! Navy Seals!
