Incredibly Beautiful Visual Poem of a Movie
I have to admit to loving Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and this movie is even better. A film that actually emotionally impacts the audience, making them think instead of sitting there in a dumb stupor. Excellent commentary on the results of assassination, wars, disruptive political climate. An interesting juxtaposition to the "go in and blow them away and leave" mentality that is so prevalent today.

High production values for a Hong Kong Kung Fu movie, but…
I saw this movie 2 years ago in China. At the time, you could not walk anywhere without seeing an ad for this movie. It’s high production values, and relatively well known stars, Jet Li and Zhang Ziyi, make it a good candidate for theatres in the US. I assume this must be what Quentin is thinking.

There are plenty of good scenes in this movie, but one can only take so much Kung Fu in one sitting. Especially since its the same story told over and over and over again.

I really thought this was going to turn out to be a good one, but for some reason, I walked away feeling empty.

Nevertheless, its a movie that I want to own on DVD.
