Storyline
In this film, muckraker Michael Moore turns his eye on George W. Bush and his War on Terrorism agenda. He illustrates his argument about how this failed businessman with deep connections to the royal house of Saud of Saudia Arabia and the Bin Ladins got elected on fraudulent circumstances and proceeded to blunder through his duties while ignoring warnings of the looming betrayal by his foreign partners. When that treachery hits with the 9/11 attacks, Moore explains how Bush failed to take immediate action to defend his nation, only to later cynically manipulate it to serve his wealthy backers' corrupt ambitions. Through facts, footage and interviews, Moore illustrates his contention of how Bush and his cronies have gotten America into worse trouble than ever before and why Americans should not stand for it.

A very "American" movie, but read on…
…very American because we can say that the emperor has no clothes and we can make jokes about where a past president chooses to moisten his cigar tips, it also celebrates dissent and freedom by its’ very presence in our local cineplexes. Is it biased? Yes. It has a particular point of view. I think this movie does not protest the war against terrorism as much as the mismanagement of that war. It does not protest the servicemen and women, but does just the opposite and recognizes the great gift that veterans give to their countrymen (this happens too late in the film and almost as an afterthought, but at least it’s there). They serve when called, not for any particular political bromide, but to be there when they are needed. To serve because they are asked. To be available so others won’t have to be. As a U.S. Marine and Vietnam veteran I think Michael Moore has a right to his opinion. After all, isn’t that what we all fought for. He is a bit heavy-handed to say the least, but he is no more myopic than the kool-aid drinking neo-cons. There are facts out of context and edited to his "spin", but they should still be addressed. I would think all Americans support the governments efforts to protect us, but you can disagree with the way it is done. Freedom is not easy, it’s hard. Freedom is not safe, it’s dangerous. That’s the way I think it should be. Anything else changes the very essence of freedom. We need to hear the different "tongues of man". The truth lies somewhere between the extremes of both right and left. Both ends sprout propaganda and are serving ideology and put their political parties before the country. Neither blind faith nor blind dissent helps an exchange of ideas. War is not entertainment to those involved. We need discussion, not both idiot sides yelling at each other. We hear daily from the neo-cons (who, in my opinion, give conservatism a bad name) so why not from those who give liberalism a bad name? Dissent is revolution of sorts and that was how this great country was birthed. Keep free.

You only know what he tells you.
Might as well be one giant commercial for those who are left of the center. Frankly I’m pretty disgusted with the idea that a biased opinion piece is worthy of a 10 or even a 9, but hey, what do I know since I don’t take sides based on one man’s slant.

    Wow..
I thought I knew what was going to be in this movie. I knew I’d be laughing at Shrub (little bush), I was already outraged at his actions; however, I didn’t expect to be so emotionally moved throughout most of this movie.

I rate this a 10 because it has the potential to make massive opinion change in my country. I don’t expect another film like this in my lifetime.
