Peter LaFleur is a charismatic underachiever and proprietor of a rundown gym called Average Joe's. The facility's ecclectic clientele of decidedly less-than-average Joes is comprised of: a self-styled pirate; a scrawny nerd who dreams of impressing an unattainable cheerleader; an obsessive aficionado of obscure sports; a dim-witted young man; and a cocky know-it-all who, of course, really knows nothing. Peter's humble gym catches the eye of White Goodman, the power-mullet-sporting, Fu-Manchu-d, egomaniacal owner of Globo Gym, a gleaming monolith of fitness. White intends to take over Average Joe's, and Peter's non-existent bookkeeping is making it all too easy for him. A foreclosing bank has stationed attorney Kate Veatch inside Average Joe's to finalize Globo's takeover of the gym. But Peter's boyish charms win her over and Kate joins his team of social rejects to beat the odds—and their own ineptitude—to try to save Average Joe's. How? Funny and fun. But only for a lazy afternoon with nothing better to do,

Will we ever get a Ben Stiller movie as good as "…Mary"? Not yet it seems, although I liked it a little bit better than "Anchorman". Rip Torn comes in too late and dies too early.
Pretty good for someone who makes suckfests like Envy and Along Came Polly
The cast makes this movie worthwhile, from the incomparable Vince Vaughn and his sarcastic side comments to Rip Torn as a foul mouthed, wheel chair bound former dodge ball champion. Stiller hams it up as usual, using props like a fake inflatable bulge and bad hair to get laughs. Watch out for hilarious cameos from David Hasselhoff, William Shatner and Chuck Norris.
Not bad for Stiller who is a loser.
Typical Stiller fare….
I was dragged into this movie. Expect nothing less, expect nothing more.

This movie rocked!!!
I gave this movie a high score, just becasue I am beginning to really apreciate the outrageous silly manner of Ben Stiller and his over the top movies. Lots of silly laughs for a silly movie. Something that was intended to be taken for a completely lighthearted movie was well carried out. I was laughing a lot. . . the only thing that I would say that could have made this movie better, was if it expanded on the games a bit more. lots of close ups only with quick editing. other than that, the movie (especially Stiller) was silly/cute.
