Storyline
A high-adrenaline tale of young climber Peter Garrett (Chris O'Donnell), who must launch a treacherous and extraordinary rescue effort up K2, the world's second highest peak. Confronting both his own limitations and the awesome power of nature's uncontrollable elements, Peter risks his life to save his sister, Annie (Robin Tunney), and her summit team (Bill Paxton and Nicholas Lea) in a race against time. The team is trapped in an icy grave at 26,000 feet - a death zone above the vertical limit of endurance where the human body cannot survive for long. Every second counts as Peter enlists the help of a crew of fellow climbers, including eccentric, reclusive mountain man Montgomery Wick (Scott Glenn), to ascend the chilling might of the world's most feared peak to save her.

    I liked it
I thought this was a great adventure movie, although it was a little sad, and the whole movie only took place on the mountains. It was a pretty good movie. The directing was great, the script had good intentions, and the acting was fair.

  5. usam

    Decent mindless action movie.

Mountain climbing is the perfect setting for creating a suspenseful movie.
If you enjoyed Cliff Hanger than you will enjoy Vertical Limit. It is as simple as that.

What equipment do they bring up to climb K2? Marmot. Buy Marmot.

Better than it has any right to be.
Overblown and ridiculous, but with beautiful mountain vistas and exciting action. I especially like the scene where the rescue party is trying to get out of the helicopter onto a sort of ledge thing on the side of the mountain. Drama! Tension!

The main guy is tolerable, and I always like that girl. Notice how I can’t remember their names? It’s that kind of movie.

    very adventurous!

Ok, But K2 with Micheal Bean was better.

Worth a trip to the movies
I enjoyed it…what more can I say. Chris O’Donnell’s performance was above average but he could have improved. The stunts are enjoyable to watch.

Sister mountain climber rescued by brother….
I get sweaty palms at these heights. The story was gripping, and uncomfortable! Nice action film with some surprise twists…I was worn out by the end of the movie///

    Nice tension.
Some good tense scenes. Kinda cheasy - and definately not very realistic - but hey I enjoyed it.
