    Not bad
Probably the best Arnold movie since Terminator 2. Kind of an uncredited homage to "Total Recall" but lacking the ambition of that great movie.

  2. hodges

Arnold is better than usual, but that’s still pretty bad

Arnold is one of my favorites

Better than I expected from a waning-years Arnold flick.
6th Day is actually not bad. It’s kind of reminiscent of Total Recall in the way it plays with your perceptions, although it doesn’t quite measure up to that earlier movie.

I love the way you aren’t quite sure which Arnold is which at the end of the movie. I’m not gonna give anything away, but the difference between Arnold and his clone is pretty tricky and it switches back and forth a couple times. The movie handles that well.

The setting, a futuristic city type deal with convenient mountains nearby, is done well. The writer and director like to show it off a little too much, and some of the gizmos they play with are far too obviously set-ups for plot points later in the film.

The acting is just kinda so-so, but I do like Arnold when he’s a) scared or b) pissed off, and he’s a lot of both in this movie. It works for me somehow.

The ending is kinda schlocky, heck the whole movie is kinda schlocky, but it’s at least exciting and the FX aren’t terrible. Mostly.

Although the film itself doesn’t raise many questions, it does bring up a lot of questions after viewing it. Like, what makes us human? Should a clone be treated as less than human? Should a clone of a dead person be considered to actually *be* that person? Interesting twists and turns in there, and lots for debate. Therefore, thumbs up for making me remember the movie after I leave. And that’s a switch for an Arnold picture.

    Action-filled Ah-nold vehicle. Nothing special.

    A semi-brainy Arnold
This movie had lots of action and a rather intelligent Arnold. Yet we still get what we expect from a Schwarzenegger movie. Definitely worth seeing.

  9. reg

    typical Arnold movie
Futuristic gadgets, bad catch phrases, car chases, lots of gunfire…

    zzzzzzz

I really wanted to like this movie…
Come on, Arnie. There must be good projects in the works for you.

How about a third movie to end the Conan trilogy on a good note? I hear rumors about it, but the rumor is that you won’t even be portraying Conan. Say what? You’re trying to tell me you don’t want to crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of the women? Because THAT is best in life, not making marginally good films like this one.

Make a good movie like that and I MAY be back to see your next movie project with more enthusiasm.

Entertaining, but nothing to write home about

    Once upon a time…
Once upon a time, there was James Cameron, and a much younger Arnold, together they made Terminator. Jump forward about 15-16
years, and what does one have?….an older(er) Arnold, and no James Cameron, as Mr. Cameron has felt it necessary to move on to younger actors….most recenly Jessica Alba, from his "creation", Dark Angel. Case closed.

    Entertaining

How can you go wrong with 2 Arnolds.

going with the crowd on this one.
i think for me, the coolest bit in the movie, was the tracking of last memories before death and all. they did some very cool things with that.

i can’t rate this movie too well though cause it was filmed in vancouver, BC all around where i went to school for 2 years. i spent the whole movie going, "hehehe, i’ve been there."

yes i’m a dork, but it was cool damnit.

  16. mooney

Its Arnold, so go see it for that.
I was actually sorta disappointed by the movie. The story is decent - if a little cheesy, but the action and effects lack a lot for an Arnie movie.

  17. raojld

    One of arnolds best
It felt a bit too much like Total Recal with the "guy wakes up and finds out that his life isnt his anymore." plot line but hey you cant kill a clasic

  18. edmund

Great action, good storyline.. it’s got Arnold! What more can you ask for?
