Repeat. No fun. Repeat. No fun. Repeat
I am sorry but repeating a movie like "the Mummy", but without the sense of humour or the happy face that was written all over that movie is bad. REALLY BAD.
It’s not funny or interesting anymore. It’s just pathetic.

I don’t want to spoil anything, but the Mummy comes back in this one.

  5. Nugent

entertaining, but lacking charm of the first one

if you liked the first one…

    This is a good movie.
The second time I saw it I was a little surprised to see that I didn’t like it as much as I used to.

  8. nancy

A little better than the first one when it comes to action but still silly.

    This is a good movie!
I really, really like this movie because it has good graphics and all that, but I also like it because their all pretty much family oriented!

    Not my idea of entertainment
I was really hyped up about the sequel to The Mummy because I liked the original so much. But this disappointed me greatly and is I would say half as good as the first one.

Those freaking 3-D effects were worse than I had expected.Hello?!?
The animation actually looks more like a playstation- game than real movie-effects. Watch Indiana Jones instead. Or Crocodile DunDee. But hey! It had it’s bright sides too.. at least a few funny moments. The kid is the best actor in the film- impressive!

If you liked the first one, you’ll like this one. Not a word, HK!

Awesome 3-D effects and an interesting plot. DO YOU SMELL WHAT I’M COOKIN?????

  14. Suong

Great effects, lame story, non-stop action.

Good effects and funny, maybe corny, but it’ll still make you laugh.
I think Brendan Fraser is great so I had to see this movie. It’s not scary - I don’t know why they’re hyping it that way. Both this one and the first one are more funny than scary. The acting was good all around - the child actor is cute and keeps up with the adults well. I found it to be an enjoyable two hours - not Oscar material but worth it nonetheless.

If you ignore history AND immerse yourself in fantasy it MIGHT work for you
but it didn’t work for me. It was a little far fetched even for a fantasy "god brings mummy to life" movie. I can suspend belief regarding the whole monster-mummy-flashback stuff only as long as the humans are acting normal to make the fantasy seem more fantastic. When the humans are doing super human things it degrades the amazement I would otherwise feel by the undead / gods / creatures in the film.

    rachel weisz mmm..

liked the sequel better than the original
The special effects were great and the story line was more cohesive than the first one.

  18. volkur

As long as you dont think to hard about it, you’ll have fun at this movie

    unoriginal, but….
this is the most unoriginal movie maybe ever made. i guess that’s why it must appeal to 9 year old boys, because no one with any sense would get anything out of this thing. granted, the fx’s were indeed special, but they can only go so far…and anyway, all of the noise gets wearisome after a while.

  20. Sweet

    Good movie, nice special effects
This movie was fun to watch.. fast paced and nice effects.. except for the last monster.. that was HELLA ghetto…

Full of Special Effects, Good Story, Fun and Intense Movie!!
I highly recommend it. I took a friend who hadn’t liked the first movie and was very hesitant about seeing this movie. After going and watching he said that Yes it was excellent. It’s very intense and it keeps rocking through the whole movie. If you’re looking for an artsy, deep inspiring story that appeals to the popular critic keep moving. If you’re looking for a fun, entertaining, exciting movie that delivers you won’t be disappointed.

i couldn’t look past the details
this movie had a lot of very cool ideas. it makes me sad to see it screwed up like it was.

things just happen and you don’t really know why. nothing is explained.

the cgi is really bad at the end. and while i’m on this, if you’re gonna put the rock in there, and you’re gonna have a big monster that looks like the rock, why don’t you just use the rock? i hate wrestling, but i would have MUCH rather seen the rock knitting a sweater than that pile of crap they tossed in at the end.

and now this bit pissed me off, but it may not bother anyone else in the world. they shoot a bird out of the air with a rifle. this folks, will never happen. a shotgun, yes. a rifle, no. that would take a prop man all of 5 minutes to find out and fix and yet that is overlooked.

i know i’m being bitchy with the gun thing, but it’s just a clue to how much effort was put into this movie. the idea is there, and it’s kinda cool, but they just didn’t take the time to do it right.

    sucky.

  23. ricki

Lots of flash but little substance. Wow, it’s a summer blockbuster.
I was entertained. I didn’t expect much from it, but the CGI in teh latter half of the movie was sub par and there was a portion of the movie which was nothing more than a scene to scene slideshow that was thoroughly uninteresting and pointless. Never mind the completely unbelievable laws of physics.

Fortunately I didn’t go to the theater looking for those things. I went there to be entertained and I was definitely entertained. I enjoyed the two hours but this merits very little recognition beyond the mindless nonstop action.

  24. none

I liked this one better I think (no spoilers here don’t worry)
The reason I THINK this movie is better than the first one is because it has a few interesting side plots (one in particular) that really made this film. Fraiser’s lines are as trite and dry as ever, but the kid is kinda cute, Evie’s great and the effects were neato.

It was worth it I guess, but it does kind of have its slow parts and some holes like why not kill people before they resurrect mummies when the good guys are standing there with guns watching the bad guys chanting to bring mummies to life…but what the hell, I was entertained!

  25. yurrov

Entertaining and definitely better than the first one!

  26. salone

1st one was better, but that’s not saying much.
I found myself yawning throughout the movie, entertained ever so slightly by blase special effects. Where is Indiana Jones when you need him? The best thing about this movie? It was free.
