Storyline
Nicole broke up with Matt months ago and is now engaged to someone else. He's very good-looking and has no trouble finding other lovers, but that doesn't help because he's still obsessed with wanting her back. Then he gets the inspiration that swearing off sex for Lent (all forms of sexual activity, even kissing or masturbation) will give him the perspective he needs. So of course a few days later he meets a woman and they fall in love. Now Matt sees his vow as a personal matter, and won't even tell her about it, but his friends think otherwise, and now the complications begin...

A cheap sex comedy that only cost me a student fare.
Your typical sex comedy for teens. Not as good as American Pie or even Boys and Girls A cliche in having all the same sex terms like nicknames to the male genitalia or comparing sex to preposterous ways of life. The movie mainly focuses on Josh Hartnet and his lovely costar but that is pretty much it. All the characters really have no depth and are just there to make meaningless comments and add some kind of support to the movie. I did however found it hilarious the dinner scene with Josh’s character and his family. It was really unexpected and had me laughing out of my seat (Martha almost chocked on her drink while watching this scene). The movie could have been better, in fact a lot better. The whole idea of giving up sex for lent seems like just a good idea on paper but needs a lot of work done and maybe a different cast.

I’m partial to Josh Hartnett and it kept me entertained.

    lame attempt…
I was pretty bored through this movie…i mean it gets to the point of groaning several times. Usual performances for all actors…making you wonder if they really can play a deep part or if they will stuck in this land of wannabe pre-adulthood melodramic crap forever. C’mon people you have to be better than THIS!!!

    It was so funny!
As usual, I disagree with reelerguy. I loved this movie, it was so much fun. As a huge fan of Josh Hartnett I thought this was a good role for him. He did a really good job. The humor in this movie is strictly teenage humor, but not nearly as bad as American Pie. I think everyone should check it out I was laughing the whole time.
