A great alternative to the big budget films!
Let me start by saying this is a well done movie that obviously cost a pretty penny to make, but it definitely doesn’t come off like a Jerry Bruckheimer type of movie. This is one for the children and for the child inside of you - lighthearted, a little goofy, but tons of fun. The acting, directing, and special effects are all good enough so that you can sit back and just enjoy the film for what it is. True, there’s no Will Smith or Keanu Reeves, but they don’t need to be in EVERY movie! This is one I’d definitely recommend.

    Son of the Mask
Saw this movie with the kids this weekend. It turned out to be a really good family movie with lots of CGI and animation to keep every entertained without getting bored. It seems like kids love the flashy computer generated stuff these days, and this movie has plenty of that. Being an Alan Cumming fan this movie appealed to me as well. I thought Alan did a great job playing the role as Loki trying to get his Mask back. If you have kids 10 and under you should check it out.

This film was definitely not on the top of my "must see" list, but I ended up getting passes to a screening and actually enjoying myself quite a bit. Yeah, I felt somewhat lame laughing at certain parts, but it certainly wasn’t the first time that’s happened. Overall, the acting was decent (yeah, I know, no Jim Carrey, but even he would have been pretty lame doing the whole Mask thing again), and the storyline, while pretty ridiculous, was decently entertaining. Not the best movie I’ve seen, but hey, it’ll make the kids happy, and there are things much worse than that.
