  • Finally, the movie that proves that Justice isn't always Poetic, Jungle Fever isn't always pretty, and Higher Learning can be a waste of time.
Storyline
"Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking your Juice in the Hood" is a parody of a lot of Afro-American movies, for instance "Boyz N the Hood", "South Central", "Menace II Society", "Higher Learning" and "Juice". We follow Ashtray as he returns to the place he grew up in and meet his father and his basket-case friends. A lot of crazy stuff happens, for example, Ashtray is older than his father and his best friend Loc Dog's grandmother is a trigger-happy old lady who blames her eccentric-looking kid for not being tough enough.

    Not too bad.
Good script, great acting, great directing. The beginning was nail-biting. The ending wasn’t as interesting though. It kind of left me confused, and it wasn’t anything special. I would recommend this movie for a thrill, but don’t expect a lot out of it, because you may be dissapointed.

A good rental, very typical thriller.

    Predictable ending.

A top-notch, first rate thriller! Edgy and suspensful.

The other reviewers were NOT paying attention to this movie
I had no problem following the plot or names and didn’t see any "holes" in the movie.

It’s pretty good but not as suspensful as the trailers led you to believe.

    O. K.
Got to the theater too late for the show we wanted to see so went to see this instead. The ads want you to believe this is the thriller to end all thrillers . . . NOT!!! The plot is fragmented, leaving many story lines unanswered, but it’s really not too bad for a matinee.

it was good moive, but there were things i got lsot at. my dad got up 1 time and came back and was lsot so many names wer mentioned, non stop reminising to a scene we teh viers never really seen just a foggy reminising of a guys death, and i kept asking my dad, is that the guy who we just seena half ahoru ago, get ina car wreck? the never showed what happned, you wonder how di the guys daughter get kidnapped, they y usually sow a dark mask kidnap a kid, but u see nohting here, a dr said "my girlfriend is held hsotage" never says her name, 10 mins later a cop is asking "wheres sarah, wheres sarah "i dont know srah, i dont know sarah", and here we wonder is that his girlfreind hes trying to keep quiet so she dont get killed? they never say?
    lots of names to remember

    HUGE PLOT HOLES
This movie had great potential…maybe it was edited poorly, i am not sure but here are some things that don’t add up, some are written for those who have seen it, but I managed not to spoil anything:

how did the girl follow the body?

    what happened to Oliver Platt?

how did they break into the old lady’s house and know who would get the case and who his neighbors would be?

this equipment they use obviously worth almost what the "prize" is worth

So many things just didn’t add up! But I think it was good acting.
